  • Exclusively from no more than 25 happy, well-nurtured, grass-fed cows from one Wisconsin farm.
  • Organic, that’s antibiotic-free, pesticide-free and herbicide-free.
  • Whole food concentrate, not isolate.
  • Cold-filtered (undenatured).

Undenatured vs. Denatured

Denatured literally means the natured had been taken out of the product.  The process of heating a raw dairy food up to kill any potential harmful pathogens is a legal necessity in modern times for large-scale distribution of a low-quality product.  However, with such a high quality product from start to finish, there is no reason for the whey to go through the harmful high-heat processing, for there is a way to pasteurize a whey protein powder without denaturing its bioavailable proteins, immune system activating enzymes, antioxidant precursors, special sugars and other constituents

The term undenatured indicates that other harsh processing methods are avoided in addition to excessive pasteurization. The delicate nutrients contained in Hyperion Nutrition’s grass-fed undenatured whey protein powder would be damaged by many of the conventional processing methods such as cross filtration, micro filtration, ion exchange and hydrolization. Instead we deliver the purest whey protein available on the market with absolutely 0 additives. Because of this it does not mix into water without the use of a blender, but we know that you’ll appreciate the minimal processing since any whey protein that mixes into water too easily has been denatured!

Isolate vs. Concentrate

Protein concentrates come with the whole protein package.  You are offered all of the natural enzymes and amino acids that make the whey nutrient rich.  Although through more refined filtration, whey isolates have a higher actual protein content, you end up paying more for less. Isolates literally “isolate” the protein from all the healing fats and sugars that have high value benefits for your health.  All of the immune-supporting immunoglobulins, lactoferrin, and glutathione are present in concentrates.

Immunoglobulins are made in our own body but they can also be consumed from food and utilized by our immune system. They work by literally binding to a variety of different types of pathogens and rendering them inert and to be disposed of by the body. They can bind to bacteria, viruses as well as fungi. Immunoglobulins also play a role in the antibody response of our immune system.

Lactoferrin is quite a remarkable and versatile protein. It has the properties of being antiviral, antibacterial, anti parasitic, anticancer, anti allergenic, as well as radio-protective (binds to radioactive compounds so they can be carried out of the body). It also helps the body regulate iron absorption. Especially those who focus on a plant-based diet aren’t getting enough iron. Lactoferrin can help both omnivores and vegetarians in getting enough iron by its ability to regulate iron levels by either slowing down or speeding up its absorption. Lactoferrin is anti-inflammatory and can also help regular cellular growth, which is excellent for cancer prevention.

Glutathione is an antioxidant made by and used throughout our body. It has been labeled the “master” antioxidant because of how important its role is. One major difference between long-lived people and those who are not quite so fortunate is that those with longevity always have high glutathione levels throughout their life. To make sufficient amounts of glutathione we need several different things. One of which is bonded cysteine. This is two cysteine amino acids held together by a sulfur bond. This bond is destroyed in all cases of cooking, including high temperature pasteurization. Our body does not absorb cysteine and utilize unless it is in a bonded state.

We need three amino acids to make glutathione. They are glycine, glutamate and, of course, cysteine. It is easy to get the first two amino acids in our diet however because of the absence of raw animal foods in many people’s diets today they are not getting adequate amounts of cysteine. Bovine serum albumin is another important precursor to glutathione that is found in dairy products only in their raw state. Once we are able to produce enough glutathione in our body, we can attain its very strong immune enhancing and anti-cancerous effects!

This is why it is important to consume whey both undenturaed and as a concentrate.  Other active elements in our protein are alpha lactalbumin, Beta lactalbumin, Lactalbumin, Lactoperoxidase, and active peptides.

Grass-fed vs. Grain-fed

Grass-fed cows differ considerably from the factory farm grain-fed cows.  Virtually all farmers that raise grass-fed cattle can ensure the grass is completely pesticide and chemical-free.  Which means the cows are healthier and offer one hundred percent organic whey protein for us.  This is because grass is grown easily with the help of the all-natural manure fertilizer that is constantly being processed.  Also, when cows are able to graze, they are able to move around and get the low amount of exercise required to optimize their health.  Grain-fed, factory-farm cows are pumped full of antibiotics and other medicines to not only simply keep them alive, but also help them digest this food they were not designed to eat.  This throws the amino acids out of balance, which permeates into our products, thus throwing ours off balance as well.  Also, grains and legumes are not nearly as nutrient rich as the grass, weeds, and herbs that pasture grazing cattle are able to maintain.

As compared to other whey protein products, you are not deprived of any of the nutrients, good bacteria, powerful antioxidants, all of which are bioavailable in Hyperion Pure Whey.

**********QUALITY MATTERS**********

Without a high quality whey protein product, you will not only be deprived of all the benefits whey protein has to offer, such as muscle-building and recovery, immune system boosting, joint health, gut health, sustained energy, and enhanced metabolism, but also the protein itself will not be as absorbable.  Other products may claim higher protein content, however, what’s the most powerful supplement in the world if our bodies cannot use it?
